Challenge

Kinga wanted to create a personal brand that incorporated her Polish heritage, her journey from Poland to America while at the same time being able to stand amongst the giants of the fashion world.

She also wanted there to be hints of magical realism, Slavic mysticism and a fierce sense of the female experience.

Solution

After looking at different naming versions and artistic directions we settled for an anglisized version of her Polish surname from Łagowska to Lagovska. This eliminated a lot of issues with Americans mispronouncing the brand name.

To reach further into her Polish heritage we found the poppy to be something that represents her on many levels — a popular Polish flower, delicate yet vibrant with color and tied to Polish folklore.

Tying it all together were a lot of her own written texts about her experience as a woman, a cultural nomad, an artist and a creator.

Website

As she was about to finish her studies at Parson's School of Design her website had to have two functions — a portfolio for her mentors and a portfolio for potential investors and business partners. It had to show her process, her work and tell people who she was as a person and a designer.
