Challenge
The client needed a brand refresh after outgrowing their old logo and system. They grow from selling supplements as a two-man-team to a company with over 15 employees — the new branding had to reflect that growth without throwing all established elements away.
Ilovet also needed to stand out in the pet supplement and cosmetics market as they sell solely on a b2b basis to veterinary clinics and not to the end user. That means mainly working with healthcare professionals who then have to recommend their products to pet owners. That means trust and a lot of human interaction.
Solution
While the color palette was only updated for a fresher look, we knew that the logo itself needed more work. Their old logo was a dog but Ilovet also sold cat products. Instead of having a dog and a cat in the logo and closing the brand off for future changes in their product lineup (like horses) a more universal logo was created.
The result was a wordmark that incorporates various animalistic properties like a nose, a wagging tail, a tongue or eyes, making it thematically fitting while at the same time being open for user interpretation without being exclusive towards pet owners.
While their products are what they sell, the people who drive across the country that sell them are just as important. That is why extra emphasis was put on the sales people to make them human, approachable and to build trust as people known for a specific supplement or character trait.
Product catalog
All of this work culminated into a product catalog that had to meet various criteria – it had to look professional while still being human and approachable. But the real challenge was in creating something that wouldn't be obsolete after a small change in a products composition — every change meant reprinting hundreds of catalogs and driving them to every veterinary clinic in the country.
The solution was to have interchangeable pages that drastically reduce printing costs while having a more ecologically conscious approach to print — no more waste paper in storage.
Additional material
Additionally a lot of material for trade fairs and events was produced to really bring the branding together. Playing with the communication elements while pushing the sales people as approachable authorities made Ilovet stand out amongst the competition.
Website
One of the main tools for Ilovet is their website. It serves not only as a platform for all the branding elements but is mainly used by both salespersons while visiting their respective veterinary practices but also by vets themselves who need to double check dosages and compositions of prescribed supplements.
The website needed to be responsive to be usable and concise at all times – in the office, during a meeting and on the go.
It serves as a hub for all upcoming events Ilovet organizes or takes part. Every digital file from simple flyers to their whole product catalog can be downloaded here.
